Panchayats completed 25 years as constitutional bodies in 2018. National discourse, conversations and dialogues on panchayati raj institutions have been somewhat weakened over the past several years. While many efforts at strengthening their roles and contributions are continuing at local levels, state level networking and advocacy is presently not as vibrant. PRIA has taken leadership in setting up a Panchayat Knowledge Hub as an initiative to fill this gap, in association with like-minded organisations and individuals passionate and committed to strengthening panchayati raj institutions as institutions of local self-governance. Decentralized governance is one of the important pillars of PRIA’s works. Over three decades of grassroots and policy level experience of PRIA on decentralized governance has resulted in abundant valuable resources. This section is a series of all the documents that PRIA has produced over its years of engagement with the Panchayati Raj. The collection includes research papers, policy briefs, intervention reports, synthesis papers, case studies, audio-visuals. This section is useful for individuals and organizations who wish to sharpen advanced understanding on various topics related to Panchayati Raj Institutions in India.
