Learning the principles and values of Democracy In Everyday Life

After successfully conducting the program for two years in Delhi, the Youth-n-Democracy (YnD) Fellowship for youth is moving to Chandigarh. A mixed cohort of 15 young people will undertake this journey of change over six months.

Youth-n-Democracy Fellowship is a learning program for youth students and professionals to develop a cadre of youth who become active citizens by learning the principles and values of Democracy In Everyday Life (DieL) and are willing to contribute to the democratic functioning of families, communities and society throughout their adult lives.

Fellowship Goal

To promote understanding on the principles and values of Democracy In Everyday Life, and confidence in Self to promote common good and contribute to the practice of DiEL.

Outcomes

• Fellows recognize their individual biases, stereotypes, strengths, weaknesses, privileges, and capabilities
• Fellows understand effective functioning of democratic principles and values and learn  tools to practice Democracy In Everyday Life
• Fellows learn skills for practical implementation of community-based methods of research, communication and advocacy that can influence others to adopt Democracy In Everyday Life
