On 29th June 1987, the United Nations General Assembly observed the first International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. It symbolized the global cooperation required to eradicate Drug Abuse from society. A three-way strategy was adopted by India - demand, supply, and harm reduction, to prevent drug abuse. An Expert Committee was also established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in 1971 to look at drug and alcohol abuse in India.

Considering the ongoing trend of drug abuse among youth, Kabil decided to understand this problem from a community lens. He created a survey to get a deeper understanding of the issue. Alongside, youth from higher education institutions were also engaged in group discussions to map the problems and identify solutions. Here is the link to the report: Click here
