Our Focus

Established in 2009, the Centre for Equity and Inclusion (CEQUIN) operates across a broad spectrum of areas affecting women and girls. Its mission articulates a world characterised by gender equality, where both women and men can realise their full potential, and where gender relations are founded on respect, nurturing, and peace. CEQUIN adopts a preventive approach to address gender-based violence, holistically tackling various forms of structural violence and engaging stakeholders across diverse contexts. The organisation aims to shift perceptions and mindsets, placing equal responsibility on both men and women across all genders.

CEQUIN employs a two-pronged strategy to combat gender-based violence. On one hand, it enhances the capacities of women and girls, empowering them to confidently claim public spaces and resist violence both at home and in the community. On the other hand, it develops advocacy initiatives led by a cadre of gender-sensitive men and boys. CEQUIN has been one of the pioneering organisations in India to establish a sport for development (S4D) program through a gender lens, utilising football as a medium for social change.

CEQUIN’s programs target adolescent girls, boys, women, stakeholders, and the broader community to achieve its programmatic objectives. The implementation of the program is guided by clearly defined outcomes, outputs, indicators, and activities. At the commencement of the first year of the project, the internal team conducted a baseline survey. Annually, midline assessments are carried out. To date, two midline assessments have been completed: one at the conclusion of the first year and another at the end of the second year.

As a first step, the PRIA team reviewed secondary documents, including program proposals, interim reports such as the Management Information System (MIS), and impact assessment studies of comparable projects, as well as the CEQUIN website, which served as essential sources of information for developing a comprehensive understanding of the programs. PRIA team actively participated in multiple discussions with the CEQUIN team to enhance and contextualise this understanding. Additionally, a review of the existing quantitative and qualitative data collected by the CEQUIN team is currently being conducted.

Building on the baseline and two annual midline reviews conducted internally, this Endline and Impact Assessment Study will adopt a participatory, developmental, mixed-method approach that utilises both quantitative and qualitative data for a comprehensive impact assessment. It leverages stakeholder engagement – adolescent girls, boys, women, local decision-makers, influencers, and broader community members – not only as respondents but as active contributors throughout the research process.

It will be conducted across the three existing implementation sites of CEQUIN’s programs. In each of these three locations, the following activities will be carried out:

Each site will serve as a participatory research hub where data collection, validation, and feedback-sharing activities will be carried out.
