Visit of Mr. Minar Pimple, Founder, Youth for Unity & Voluntary Action (YUVA)

On 12 January 2026, PRIA had the privilege of hosting Mr. Minar Pimple, Founder of Youth for Unity and Voluntary Action (YUVA), for an engaging interaction with the team. His journey in civil society offered valuable insights and reflections on participatory development, youth leadership, and social change.

Mr. Pimple shared his experiences of beginning as a young activist and recognising the transformative role of youth in participatory urban planning, which led to the establishment of YUVA in 1984 as a youth-led social change organisation. During his tenure as CEO (1984–2004), he guided YUVA's growth into a leading voluntary organisation dedicated to advancing human rights and sustainable development among urban and rural communities across India.

The interaction provided an enriching opportunity for PRIA colleagues to learn from Mr. Pimple's decades of experience in community development, participatory governance, and strengthening civil society initiatives.
