Dr. Rajesh Tandon has been invited to deliver a keynote address at the Rhodes University International Community Engagement Conference, scheduled from 5–7 May 2026 in Makhanda, Eastern Cape, South Africa. The conference theme, “Higher Education Community Engagement: Reparative Futures for the Cultivation of Humanity,” foregrounds the transformative role of universities in advancing justice and relational futures.

Dr. Tandon’s longstanding scholarship and leadership in knowledge democracy strongly resonate with the conference focus, particularly in relation to historical accountability, epistemic justice, and the recognition of community knowledge systems. His keynote will address Knowledge Democracy in the context of the conference theme, exploring how higher education institutions can move beyond extractive and hierarchical knowledge paradigms toward more reparative, dialogic, and transformative engagement practices.
