The Mizan K4C Hub proudly hosted the launch of the Regional Training Centre (RTC) for Knowledge for Change (K4C) and Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) in Asia. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Rajesh Tandon and Prof. Muhammad Tauffik bin Mohd Noor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM).

The launch also featured distinguished keynote addresses by Dr. Arjan de Haan from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and Prof. Tan Sri Dzulkifli Abd Razak, reflecting on the growing significance of community-engaged research in advancing inclusive and sustainable development across the region.

This year’s K4C Mentor Training Programme (MTP) brought together mentors from Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Thailand, and Cambodia, alongside experienced instructors from previous cohorts representing Surabaya, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Singapore, and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).

 

 

 

The event also featured the first RTC Asia Coordination Meeting, which brought together mentors from the K4C Mentor Training Programme (MTP) Cohorts 1 and 2, along with hub and university representatives, prospective K4C partners, USIM leadership, and representatives from the Malaysian National Commission for UNESCO.

The launch was held as part of the K4C Mentor Training Programme (MTP) Cohort 2 – Asia, conducted from 4–13 October 2025 at the International Youth Centre (IYC), Kuala Lumpur, the designated K4C Residency Centre for the Asia region.
