European Evaluation Society (EES) 2024

On 25th September 2024, Agulhas hosted a participatory session on ‘Determining Our Impact as Evaluators and Researchers – Its Opportunities and Challenges’ at the European Evaluation Society (EES) 2024 conference, in collaboration with partners from The Advocacy Team and PRIA India.

The session featured Dr. Kaustuv Bandyopadhyay and other delegates who shared diverse perspectives from across the research and evaluation ecosystem.

The discussion focused on how evaluation practitioners—often working within impact-driven, socially oriented organisations—can better understand and measure their own contributions to change. The session highlighted the importance of reflection amidst fast-paced project cycles and addressed the contextual challenges in ensuring that evaluation findings and recommendations are effectively implemented.

Participants explored practical approaches to increasing the influence and effectiveness of evaluations, while acknowledging that outcomes are often shaped as much by context as by the strength of evidence.
