The UNESCO Chair in Community-Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education organised a webinar DECODE webinar titled “Guardians of the Forest” on Friday, March 28th, 2025
The webinar presented the project “Guardianas del Bosque”, a process of rapprochement for the defense of territory and ancestral knowledge in the Colombian Amazon piedmont. It aimed to generate a dialogue between similar experiences.
The DECODE Project is coordinated by the UNESCO Chair in Community Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education and funded by the International Development Research Centre. In this webinar we want to present the results of the project and explore community and indigenous-led research focused on the climate crisis and climate resilience. We will share the story of the Guardians of the Forest, in Putumayo, Colombia, with Waldina Muñóz, indigenous leader and project manager. We will also share other similar experiences, such as the “Pachagrama” in Bolivia, and we will dialogue with those who want to share their processes and thus enrich the space and promote learning among participants.
