On April 15, 2025, the UNESCO Chair in Community-Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education, in collaboration with PRIA, successfully launched the much-anticipated book "Teaching Community-Based Participatory Research: Socially Responsible and Ethically Anchored," edited by Dr. Rajesh Tandon and Dr. Budd Hall. This important publication presents a wide-ranging and insightful exploration of how CBPR can be taught through the MTP model.

Part One of the book delves into essential aspects of CBPR pedagogy, addressing issues such as navigating power dynamics, ethical research practices, the use of arts-based methodologies, gender considerations in research, and teaching CBPR in digital environments.

Part Two shares practical experiences and approaches from educators and mentors across Colombia, Canada, South Africa, India, Italy, and Malaysia. These contributions illustrate how CBPR’s core principles are integrated into curriculum content and pedagogy to foster ethically sound and socially responsible research and learning.

The launch event featured rich reflections from contributing authors Dr. Wafa Singh, Prof. John Gaventa, Dr. Kaustuv Bandyopadhyay, Ms.Nandita Bhatt, Ms. Tariqa Farrell Tandon, Dr. Sharon Valarmathi, Dr. Jyothi Gogia, and Dr. Anshuman Karol. We were also privileged to hear inspiring remarks from guest speakers, Dr. Pankaj Mittal and Dr. Sonajhria Minz, along with a keynote message from co-editor, Dr. Budd Hall.
