Students from the Sociology Department of Dr. BR Ambedkar University, Delhi, visited PRIA for an exposure visit to learn about its work and engage with the Martha Farrell Foundation (MFF) team on 9th October 2026. The visit offered an opportunity to connect their academic learning with practical approaches to participation, governance, and gender equality.
Dr. Kaustuv K. Bandyopadhyay introduced PRIA, outlining its work and its approach to participatory methods and governance. The session helped students understand how participation informs PRIA’s engagement with communities and institutions.
Our colleague, Mr. Piyush Poddar from Martha Farrell Foundation, introduced the Foundation’s work, providing students with an opportunity to build on their understanding of gender issues and explore gender mainstreaming in greater depth. The interaction highlighted the relevance of gender perspectives to community engagement and institutional practices. The exposure visit brought together perspectives from PRIA and MFF, helping students reflect on the connections between sociology, participatory practice and efforts to advance gender equality.
