1 Workshop on "Strengthening Governance and Development in Jharkhand" 6th March 2006 held at ATI Ranchi to mark LJK‘s Silver Jubilee celebrations was organized by PRIA in collaboration with Lok Jagriti Kendra, Madhupur. Civil Society Building The objective of the workshop was to deliberate on the ways to strengthen governance and development and to evolve a roadmap for an effective Governance and Development in the State.
2 A Training of Trainers on Participatory Approaches to Community Development was organized by PRIA in TCL Barbala, Participatory Development It was to provide orientation to the staff of TCL and Tata Chemicals Society for Rural Development (TCSRD) on the use of participatory approach to Community Development.
3 Capacity Building Workshop on Micro Level Planning For the Field level Functionaries of CASP-Plan Project (1-3 March, 2006) Capacity Building Organized by PRIA whose objectives were to develop understanding about micro level planning and to learn about the methods of people’s participation in project planning also preparing project planning and proposals.

6 Training of Trainers Facilitation Programme was organized by PRIA on the 10- 16 of December 2006 at CCRC under the West Bengal Civil Society Support Programme (WBCSSP) Partcipatory Research The participants who took part in the programme came from different organizations; participants also came from the eight backward districts of West Bengal. The aim of the programme was the participant’s capacity building. So that they can make use of what they learn in their own societies and communities.

9 Praja Prashikshan Karyakram ka Prativedan September- November 2006, Sarguja Panchayati Raj Iski shuruaat hetu sehmati patr PRIA Dilli ki taraf se July 2006 mein prapt hui Lekin Sarguja mein Bhari karan yeh prashikshan karyakram vastav mein september 2006 mein arambh hua aur November 2006 mein smapt hua. Iske antargat kul 272 prashikshan ayojit kiye gaye.
10 Training of Trainer Programme under PRJA for Cluster II (Chhuria, Dongargagh and Dongargaon) 13-14 February 2006. Panchayati Raj Was organised to orient the trainers on local self governance and panchayati raj system; to make the trainers informed about the salient features of 73rd Constitutional Amendment Act and to provide the trainers an idea on various methods of participatory training.
11 The Training Programme of Panches and Sarpanches Mahendragarh 28-21 Jan 2006, a joint initiative of PRIA, Haryana & HIRD, Nilokeri. Panchayati Raj The training highlighted the basic issues that emerged during the training of each block; views of the participants regarding the course, etc.
12 The Training Programme of Panches and Sarpanches Mahendragarh 24 Oct-30 March 2006, a joint initiative of PRIA, Haryana & HIRD, Nilokeri. Panchayati Raj The training was a two day module for each group of participants. In all there were 58 courses conducted in the entire district.

15 Workshop on "Gender and Domestic Violence" 10 March, 2006 Women Development PRIA was called upon to conduct a daylong session on gender issues with a focus on violence against women.
16 "Discussion on Involvement of Women in Governance & Development in Jharkhand" was held on the 24th of March 2006 Women Development PRIA had organised an informal discussion with the objective to decide action points; formulate strategies to address women's problems and their core develeopment issues.

18 Workshop on Women's Participation in Local Governance involving government frontline workers. Women Development To recognize the womens capabilities and capacities to raise their voices to act collectively in recognizing their own rights as well as rights over resouyrces; to know about the contemporary schemes implemented for them like National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.

2007
1 Experience on Promoting Participation and Governance Participatory Development Seminar organised by PRIA.
2 National Workshop on C-DAP (Comprehensive District Agricultural Plan) held at PRIA. Urban Development The purpose of the workshop was to build collective understanding on facilitating the process of CDAP in 22 intervening districts of 10 states as a part of preparing District plan by March 2008 so that this could be included in next year planning. This process was termed as ambitious as well as time bound task.
3 National Workshop on “Role of Panchayats in Ensuring Girl Child Education Through SSA” organized by PRIA Panchayati Raj Workshop on ensuring girl child education through panchayats.
4 PRIA also convened a National Seminar on the theme of “Higher Education: Challenges for Human and Social Development” on 10th December, 2008 in Delhi. Education Chaired by Prof. Bibek Debroy, the two keynote addresses were given by Prof. P.V. Indiresan, Former Director, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and Dr David Turpin, President and Vice-Chancellor of University of Victoria, Canada.
5 Workshop on “Empowerment of Muslim NGOs through Knowledge, Capacity Building and Networking” March 24, 2007 Capacity Building Workshop on empowerment of Mulslim NGOs.
6 Three days training on Accounts Management at CINI Chetna Resource Centre (CCRC) on 19-21st December 2007 organised by PRIA Kolkata Financial Management The objective were to understand the basic Accounts Keeping process in Voluntary Development Organisations (VDOs); to understand the minimum standard at Account Keeping in the Organisations vis-à-vis present situation; to understand the importance of various statutory requirements (e.g. filling up FCRA returns, Income Tax returns, annual audit, project audit, internal audit) and other accounts related practices and ways to improve that; to have a clarity on the Accounts Keeping under WBSCCP and to get a basic understanding of computer aided Account Keeping.
7 Three day Training Workshop on Proposal Writing (29-31 August, 2007, Jalpaiguri) (3-5 September 2007, Kolkata). Capacity Building The purpose was to acquaint participants on the framework of proposal and its meaning, and also to develop a proposal- various steps, components, its analysis, etc.
8 Three day Training Workshop on: Organisational Development & Institutional Management (Kolkata 17-19, 2007) (Belurghat 19-21, 2007). Capacity Building The purpose was to develop an understanding about the “institution”, “organization” and its role(s) and various fundamentals of an organization; to understand and analyse the various elements of Civil Society Organisations- its operational meaning, aspects of its management and to develop a plan for an organization (good CSO).
9 One day workshop on NREGA at Nhan District Sirmour H.P. 15 February 2007 Panchayati Raj PRIA had conducted a national level study on role of panchayats in the implemntation of NREGA in 16 different states of the country. The purpose was to generate need dand awarenessat the panchayat level.

4 Regional Skills-Building Workshop on Participatory Governance Civil Society Building The programme phase aimed to: (i) generate and share knowledge and learning about the theory and practice of participatory governance (ii) help southern practitioners (CSOs and government actors) acquire the practical skills and tools they need to promote effective citizen participation in governance processes; (iii) build bridges between civil society and government actors and an active “community of practice” among participatory governance practitioners; and (iv) promote innovation in participatory governance practices by providing direct operational support to strategically selected joint civil society-government initiatives.
5 'Citizenship and Governance' Civil Society Building The annual conference on 'Citizenship and Governance' was a major occasion to nurture and deepen such engagements. The conference in February 2009 was organised in partnership with the University of North Bengal (NBU) at its campus in Siliguri.
6 In order to generate a discourse on higher education for human and social development, PRIA convened a national Seminar in Delhi during August 2008 on 'Higher Education: Challenges for Human and Social Development'. Education There were representations from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MoHRD), University Grants Commission (UGC), Association of Indian Universities (A I U) , Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Amity University, Shastri Indo-Candian Institute, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Lady Irving College, Delhi.University . The recommendations have since been forwarded to the UNESCO regional office and the Government of India (GoI).
7 The Andhra University's Conference on 'Citizenship, Participation and Accountability' in December 2008 Civil Society Building Specific focus on rural employment guarantee rights. It was attended by 120 delegates. The annual FICCI conference on Higher Education held in Delhi during November 2008 was another occasion for broadening partnerships. The theme of human and social development was reiterated in this conference by a plenary speech by Dr. Rajesh Tandon.
8 Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Leadership in Panchayats and Utilisation of Resources under SCSP and TSP was held on 25 March 2009 in Delhi. District Planning Project A national consultation on the theme of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Leadership in Panchayats and Utilisation of Resources under SCSP and TSP was held on 25 March 2009 in Delhi to discuss these findings. Chaired by Prof. Bhalchandra Mungekar, the consultation recommended that at least 50 per cent of the SCSP and TSP allocations should be made available to the District Planning Committees (DPCs) for inclusion in their district plans. This recommendation has since been taken on board by the Planning Commission.
9 A South Asian workshop was hosted and facilitated by PRIA in August 2008 which included field exposures. Online mentoring and coaching of some of the 24 participants was also conducted by PRIA. A similar workshop is being planned for civil society in South-East Asia.
10 Fifth International Conference on Citizenship & Governance. Revisioning Social Transformation in the 21st Century. (27-29 February, 2008) PRIA. Panchayati Raj The main objective of this was to focus upon the contemporary research issues and documenting the various field practices.
11 Workshop on Partcipatory Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, 4th- 7th November, 2008, Bhubaneshwar. Participatory Research PRIA had conducted a need assessment exercise for capacity building of the project staffs of different partner organisations for better delivery of services under the OCSPP project. It was with regard to this that PRIA organised a training programme on Participatory Planning, monitoring and evaluation which will be helpful not only for OCSPP the but for the future also.

14 RTI & NREGS Workshop on 18-20 June, 2008, Jalpaiguri. Civil Society Building The purpose was to train CSOs on different aspects of RTI and NRGES in order to enable them to conduct trainig programmes mobilization drives for community leaders, community based organisations, NGOs, elected represenattives of PRIs an ULBs.
15 Media Relations Activities for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) Fifth International Conference Citizenship & Governance February 27-29 2008. Brought together academia and practitioner community from across the country and abroad to delibaerate on diverse issues relating to citizenship and governance. Participatory Research Subjects covered- social transformation through economic development; accounatbility in rural wage employement programmes in india, globalisation and women's livelihoods, represenattives democracy leadership and women necessity of civil society for a right based approach to developing India.
16 CGAMP Workshop on Effects of Non Verbal Communication on Work Environment 29th September 2008. Women Development The objective of the workshop was to reflect upon the existing non-verbal behaviour of colleagues of same and opposite sex and analyze how did they affect others and how could they be changed to enable create more comfortable working environment within PRIA.
17 Women's Political Empowerment & Leadership Training of Animators, July 28-30 1998 New Delhi. Women Development The objective was basically for perspective building, skill building action and follow up planning. By the end of the 3 day workshop the objective was met fairly successfully.
18 Capacity Building Programme on Gender Audit in Organisations 23-25 May 2008, PRIA Capacity Building The one and a half day training programme was organised through Gender in Institution Project to build the capacities of selected PRIA staff on conducting gender audit.

20 NGO Leadership Training Program 1-2 November 2008 jointly conducted by PRIA and Community Coordination Initiative (CCI), Mumbai. Civil Society Building The objectives was to deepen understanding of voluntary sector/ civil society in India and the need of image bui9lding of the community and knowledge building and sharing of good practices of voluntary sector.
2009
1 Workshop on Participatory Governance convened by CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation in partnership with PRIA, India. Participatory Development National Consultation on scheduled Tribe Leadership in Panchayats and Utilisation of Resources under SCSP and TSP organized by PRIA where it aimed to study on Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP) and Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) and to generate a debate among different stakeholders on the utilisation of the funds available for building and strengthening the leadership of SC/STs in Panchayats.
2 National Consultation on Social Audit was held at National Institute of Rural Development, Hyderabad jointly organized by PRIA and NIRD (National Institute of Rural Development) Panchayati Raj Workshop on National Audit.
3 National Consultation on Status of Devolution and State Finance Commissions was organized by PRIA Panchayati Raj The major objective of this consultation was to know the status of devolution of subjects assigned to PRIs and Municipalities under 11th and 12th Schedule, role of SFCs and to suggest strategies to further strengthen the distribution of financial resources to local governments.

7 Agenda of Participatory Planning. Participatory Research University, Ahmedabad in November 2009, which was attended by a vast group of town planners from various state governments, representatives of urban research and training institutions, academicians, consultants and CSOs from all over the country to further the agenda of participatory planning.
8 PRIA- CCI Workshop (24th- 25th January 2009) Jaipur Civil Society Building The objective was to provide orientation to NGO leaders in the development of competent professional Muslim NGOs, also to facilitate development of new vision, resources and services for Muslim NGOs and to provide up-to date information and access to relevant Government Schemes.

14 International Conference on Citizen Leadership and Democratic Accountability 30 November-1 December 2009, New Delhi organised by PRIA with support from Ford Foundation. Civil Society Building The purpose was to prepare a body of knowledge on methodologies to prepare and stregthen citizen leadership which could facilitate participation of citizens in, and demand accountability from local governance institutions.
15 Logo Link Regional Dialogue on Democratic Local Governance and Citizen Participation in South Asia, 4th March 2009 PRIA, New Delhi. Panchayati Raj To identify priority issues and challenges related to democratic local governance and citizen participation in South Asia and to isdentify prospective supporter, resources and cooperation for stregthening the Logo Link network in South Asia.

18 Regional Skills-Building and Peer Learning Workshop on Participatory Governance was held on 23–26 June 2009 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Participatory Research More than 70 participants (civil society practitioners and government officials) from Cambodia, Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Nepal, Thailand, Philippines and Sri Lanka attended the event.
19 The Conference on Financing of Adult Education co-organised by International Council of Adult Education (ICAE), European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA), ASPBAE and DVV International during 23–24 June 2009 in Bonn, Germany Education The objective was to develop strategies for increasing public financing of lifelong learning in developing countries, as globalisation and economic restructuring is demanding ‘re-education’ of workers and citizens.
20 Asia-Pacific region in a workshop held in Bali, Indonesia during 10–13 October 2009. Civil Society Building PRIA was invited to work with DVV International and ASPBAE to develop tools for effective monitoring and evaluation of adult education programmes in the

1 ‘Inclusive Urban Governance: Challenges and opportunities’ on 28 and 29 January 2010 Urban Development PRIA convened a national dialogue to build shared knowledge and capacity among all such organisations in the country.
2 PRIA convened a national consultation, ‘Strengthening Panchayati Raj Institutions in India’, on 12–13 February 2010 of all stakeholders. Panchayati Raj A National consultation on Strengthening Panchayati Raj Institutions in India was held.
3 Researching Violence in Democracies: Perspectives from India, Mexico and Brazil: A Roundtable Dialogue.September 9, 2010 Panchayati Raj Envisaged as an explorartory dialogue between scholars and activists who have researched and directly engaged with issues of citizenship, the role of civil society and different forms of social action in areas of conflict and violence in Latin America and South Asia.

1 Training of Trainers on Women's Empowerment for SARD (Social and Research Development Fund), PRIA, 16TH March 2011 Women Development The participants were from the different Tibetian sectors in India. PRIA, New Delhi, Astha, Udaipur tatha Dipayatan, Patna ke sahbhagion ke atirikt Bihar rajya ke jila vyask shiksha adhikarion, pariyojna adhikarion tatha superwaiser ne iss prashikshan mein bhag liya.
