The recommendations have since been forwarded to the UNESCO regional office and the Government of India (GoI). |

The annual FICCI conference on Higher Education held in Delhi during November 2008 was another occasion for broadening partnerships. The theme of human and social development was reiterated in this conference by a plenary speech by Dr. Rajesh Tandon. |

A national consultation on the theme of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Leadership in Panchayats and Utilisation of Resources under SCSP and TSP was held on 25 March 2009 in Delhi to discuss these findings. Chaired by Prof. Bhalchandra Mungekar, the consultation recommended that at least 50 per cent of the SCSP and TSP allocations should be made available to the District Planning Committees (DPCs) for inclusion in their district plans. This recommendation has since been taken on board by the Planning Commission. |
